Now that Spring is here, there is no better time to get out and go exploring. This weekend we travel to the “Lone Star State” to one of the most historic cities in the country, San Antonio. The city is full of so much life and culture, it almost sweeps you off your feet…literally! To kick off the trip, we spent the day gazing at the beautiful marine life at SeaWorld. The amusement park was packed with curious children and adults having a great time watching and interacting with the animals. They have some pretty epic rides too that are sure to cool you off out in the Texas sun.
We had no idea this past weekend was one of the biggest festivals in the city, Fiesta San Antonio, and the downtown streets were packed with people dressed in bright colors and flower crowns to celebrate the heroes of the Alamo and Battle of San Jacinto. This event started off as a parade in 1891, but has grown into a 10 day party to honor those soldiers. Fiesta, Fiesta!🎉🎊
Who doesn’t love a nice dinner? We had to go to one of my favorite spots, Texas de Brazil, and see if they really do it better in Texas. I love the romantic ambiance of the restaurant, tasty cocktails and all their delectable meats that are cooked to perfection. Bon apetite!
The next day, it was time to check out the main attraction and learn about one of the greatest battles in U.S. and Mexican history, The Alamo. The grounds of the historic site were absolutely breathtaking, and just to walk where so many brave men, women and children risked their lives was a feeling I will never forget.
San Antonio is filled with so many interesting structures and stories, I can see why locals love to hang out and roam the city. We had such a wonderful time riding scooter and touring the city, and I can’t wait for our next adventure.
